Maria José Feio made the Portugal representative on the IPROMEDAI COST action Maria José Feio, UCIBio researcher based at the department of chemistry and biochemistry, University of Porto was made the Portugal representative on the COST action, " Improved Protection of Medical Devices Against Infection (IPROMEDAI)".  
Peter Eaton won the second prize in the Royal Microscopical Society Scientific Imaging Competition Peter Eaton, from the NanoBio research group at UCIBIO, won the second prize in the Royal Microscopical Society Scientific Imaging Competition in “Electron Microscopy - Physical Sciences”.  
Diana Ribeiro awarded with The Best Poster Award by The International Organization for Biological Crystallization On June 23rd, Diana Ribeiro, from the Macromolecular Crystallography & GlycoLab Group at FCT-UNL, was awarded the Prize for Best Poster entitled “Use of Gold Nanoparticles as Additives in Protein Crystallization”, by The International Organization for Biological Crystallization, in the 1st FEBS-INSTRUCT Practical Crystallization Course, Advanced Methods in Macromolecular Crystallization VI, that took place in the Academic and University Center at Nové Hrady, Czech Republic.   
The CrystalSense Solutions team composed by researchers from FCT-UNL will present their project “CrystalSense Solutions - Patterning your Senses” in COHiTEC 2014 Cecília Roque, head of Biomolecular Engineering Lab, and her team composed by Ana Margarida Dias, Ana Sofia Pina and Ricardo Branco, participated in COHiTEC 2014 program. The program aims to support the valuation of the knowledge produced at Portuguese R&D institutions. On July 1, the tech-based projects that participated in COHiTEC 2014 will be presented publicly in a Closing Session that will take place at Porto Business School, starting at 2 pm.
