The CryoEM@NOVA project aims to facilitate access to cryo-EM methodology, promoting a research program in cryo-EM at NOVA FCT. Our hub has recently been equipped with state-of-the-art technology for sample preparation and cryo-EM data processing.
Our facilities include a sample preparation room with controlled temperature and humidity, where a glow discharger, a vitrification robot, and a grid clipping station operate. Once vitrified, samples are stored in liquid nitrogen and shipped for data acquisition (INL-Braga or other European facilities with electron microscopes). Our data processing infrastructure includes: 4 GPUs, 5x 22TB RAID-5 storage, and cryo-EM software packages (Relion, CryoSparc, SCIPION, and others). Our services and resources are open to the entire scientific, academic, and industrial community: https://sites.fct.unl.pt/cryoem-at-nova/pages/access-cryoem-pt-node-ucibio-nova-fct
